Work Text:
Once the professors revealed that the prom would be held in the resort, the academy descended into mayhem. All of the students are busy making plans, and how would they inquire about their prom date. The event will be enjoyable but hectic for the council members; nevertheless, they will organize how the celebration will take place. Not to mention how many people have recently invaded the student council room.
“I swear to God, if someone knocks—” Kunikida, the secretary, hasn't even finished his sentence when another knock occurs. “Fufufufu, You just jinx it, Four-eyes,” Dazai snickers as his classmates laugh.
Chuuya, the vice president, volunteered, “I’ll get the door.” He is greeted by a blushing teenager dude as soon as he opens the door. The student appears to be star struck as he attempts to open his mouth, but no words come out.
Chuuya, an impatient person, does a mental inhale and exhale while waiting for the student to explain why he was here. Yosano appears by Chuuya just as he is about to lose patience. She spots a letter in the student's hand and assumes it is a love letter because many individuals have come to ask the council students to be their prom date.
“So, who is the lucky one you're going to ask to be your prom date?” Yosano inquires, smirking as she watches the student's cheek become even redder. The student fidgets and attempts to respond, but is interrupted by an unpleasant fish.
“Sorry but Yosano already has Kouyou as her prom date,” Dazai said, as Yosano elbowed him. “How can you presume I'll be the one he asks to be his prom date?”
“You are the only girl here in the council because this student is a guy, so I presume it would be you,” he stated flatly. “It may be a somebody you know,” she suggested as her eyes went to Chuuya.
“She is right,” the student says as he drops his head and adds, “I’m going to ask someone else, to be specific, it is a guy whom I would like to ask to be my prom date,” the student says as he scratches his head. “See? You are such a moron, Dazai,” Yosano exclaims, sticking out her tongue.
“It's not my fault; I assume it's yours since the men who come here ask if you may be their prom date,” Dazai explained. He looks at the student and grins at him, “If you're going to ask me, I say—” before Dazai could continue what he was saying, the student anxiously shouts.
“Please be my prom date,” he says as he gives Chuuya the letter. Dazai interjected before Chuuya could say anything. “No, he can't,” he interposed furiously, his darkened eyes fixed on the student.
“I'm not asking you,” the student says as he waits for Chuuya's response. If looks could kill, this student would be dead by Dazai's gaze.
“It doesn't matter who you ask; if I say no, then no,” Dazai emphasized. Chuuya stepped in before a heated argument could begin. “Thank you for trying to invite me as your prom date, but I'd like to reject you,” he apologized.
“Don't let him influence your decision; you can still say yes,” the student insists. Dazai mentally rolls his eyes as Yosano and Chuuya chuckle.
“He already said no, quit insisting, you can now go,” Dazai replies as he darkly smiles at the student.
“You can't control all of the students here just because you're the president,” stated the student aggressively. “How dare this idiot defy the president? Let's see what I'm going to do with him,” Dazai thought to himself, a vicious grin on his face. Chuuya clutches Dazai's hands in an attempt to stop whatever he is intending to do to the student.
Chuuya faked a cough and answered, “My decision remains no.” They watch as the student gives up on pursuing Chuuya and leaves defeatedly, while Dazai watches the student go with a satisfied expression on his face.
The three student councils return to their seats. Ranpo mentions something that piques the interest of the other council students. “Dazai, you've been turning down every kid who has come here to ask Chuuya to be their prom date. Why is this the case?” he asks humorously. The other students council stare at Dazai, waiting for his response.
“I’m just sparing their asses, Chuuya would be a dreadful date,” Dazai reasoned dramatically while softly glaring at Ranpo. Chuuya smacked his head, but Atsushi spoke up before he could. “Perhaps you're envious that they're approaching Chuuya?”
“No way!” exclaimed Dazai. “Why should I be envious of a five-foot-tall hatrack? I have so many admirers who are dying to ask me out.”
“What I mean is that you are jealous because they have the guts to ask him out while you don't,” Atsushi adds, scratching his head.
Dazai can't believe what he's hearing and attempts to open his mouth, but nothing comes out. Another knock halted his attempt to defend himself.
Akutagawa volunteered to open the door and returned two minutes later with another love letter. “Oh, you have an admirer, huh?” teases Dazai.
“Let's see if you can still tease when you figure out who is receiving this letter,” Akutagawa murmurs. “It's not for me; it's for Chuuya-san,” he said, amusing the other council members. “Looks like Mr. Fancy Hot is popular lately,” Ranpo snickers.
Dazai snatches and tears the letter before Akutagawa hands it to Chuuya. “Hey, that was disrespectful,” Chuuya exclaimed, elbowing Dazai, who simply shrugs. While Ranpo was having his snacks and amused by what was going on, his fellow council students gave him a troubled and curious look.
Before anyone can express their worries, the bell rings, signaling the end of class. Every student eagerly returned home. “What's bothering you, Shitty Dazai? You've been so subdued since what occurred in the Council Room,” Chuuya inquires, concerned.
Dazai remained silent for a moment, staring at Chuuya solemnly, “Perhaps I should cover your face or maybe kill all the students?” he muses to himself.
“You look so horrendous talking shits into yourself, you waste of bandage,” Chuuya exclaims as his gaze meets Dazai's, and he shivers involuntarily. Dazai has that look on his face as if he's about to commit murder. Not to mention his grasp on Chuuya's waist is becoming increasingly firm.
“Dazai, your grip on me is growing tighter, it hurts,” Chuuya mumbles as he winces reflexively. Dazai snapped back to reality, releasing his grip on Chuuya's waist and kissing his forehead as he apologized.
“What occurred to your enormous brain, huh?” he worriedly asks, caressing his face. Dazai resists kissing his chibi because he is too cute, “Ugh! It should be unlawful for him to appear so charming.”
“Your tiny little brain won't get it,” Dazai taunts, laughing. “Worry less, chibi, or your brain will shrink like your height.”
"Why do I even bother?" Chuuya says, battling the urge to destroy this jerk. "Whatever, let's just go home," Dazai intertwined their hands as they walked towards their house.
With a nasty grin on his lips, he whispers to himself, “I’m going to do something about those fools who try to take my chibi."

The following day, as commanded by the council president, all students gathered in the auditorium room. As you walk into the auditorium room, you can hear all the students grumbling, wondering why the council president would suddenly assemble them all.
All council students ascended the platform, led by Dazai, the president. “Good morning, my dear fellow students!” he says as he taps the mic. He begins by greeting them, making the other council kids shudder inwardly. “First and foremost, I am delighted to congratulate everyone since there is a prom going on, which I am sure you are well aware of."
“You are aware that the council students are in charge of planning that event, correct? Do you want to know what might happen on that day?” As the students shouted yes, the atmosphere lightened and got more boisterous. “Fufufu~, I'd rather not! Where’s the fun in that if I spoil all of you?” said Dazai, teasingly.
The audience curses Dazai, who grins in amusement. The announcement that follows is merely a reminder of that occurrence. Dazai interjects before Kunikida begins his closing remarks.
“Before everyone continues their perspective class, I'd like to make one final statement,” he says sweetly. But everyone on the council knows better that his smile indicates a terrible thing. Dazai spare a glance at Chuuya and declares, “I prohibited every student here from inviting Chuuya as their prom date. You already know what will happen when I find out there is still someone who opposes me and attempts to chase him.”
The tumultuous environment was replaced in an instant by cold and solitude. Except for the council members, all of the students were silent and terrified to talk, as if a word had just come out of their mouths and they were about to die.
One brave soul raised his hand, requesting permission to speak, and Dazai nodded, allowing him to do so. “Who is going to be his prom date if no one is permitted to ask him? Isn't it unjust for him to be alone on that particular day?”
“What a brave soul you are,” Dazai replies with a smirk. “Who says he'll be lonely? He has me, of course. After all, I'm the only one worthy of being at his side.”
Chuuya makes an internal facepalm as he pushes himself to sit instead of kicking that jerk. Dazai's shameless confession amuses the council students. Yosano, on the other hand, is glued to her phone, recording everything.
“As you can see, no one in this room is worthy of being by his side except for me." With a devilish smile, he continues, “If I catch any of you still insisting on asking him, you guys will never see the light again.” He observes the students' gulping and tries not to shudder. He smiles widely, satisfied by their reactions. “That's it! Everyone have a wonderful day.”
Chuuya walks to Dazai and smashes his head as soon as the students leave. “What is that all about, you shitty bastard?”
“Did chibi lose all his brain cells?” Dazai massages his head and pouts. “Obviously, I must remind them that you are mine!”
“What a fucking shameless possessive bastard you are.”
