Chapter Text
For those of you wary about reading WIPs, don't be! This entire fic is COMPLETE and just waiting for the final spit-shine as we post the chapters. After this first weekend of every day chapters, we will post every Monday/Wednesday/Friday until we reach the end!
And, for those of you who read the tags and raised your eyebrows in concern: there will be a happy ending to this story!
Fantismal and Krethes have both signed the Fandom Values Statement. This was something put together by a group of Harry Potter fans who were concerned about the rise of fandom drama. We encourage you all to read it and sign if you agree with the values within!
As you may have noticed, the tags on this fic are all over the place, so some clarification (and be careful, there may be mild spoilers ahead). As always, take care of yourself first. We'll try to be upfront and open with tags, especially on chapters that handle the darker stuff, but if you feel we are missing a warning, please reach out to us and let us know!
Warnings
This is a text fic, so it will be light and fluffy and bounce around. But it also has many heavy plots and story arcs.
There is a LOT of child abuse and trauma referenced, of pretty much every type imaginable. Most of the characters are 21+ now, but they may have references to past abuse. Krethes and Fantismal do not condone child abuse. If any of this seems familiar to you or loved ones in your life, please seek help from a trusted friend or adult.
That being said, we have translated Remus' lycanthropy into an assault by Fenrir Greyback when he was a child, as Greyback was portrayed as a monster who preyed on children in the books. Remus is not his only victim. If this is something you are not okay with reading, this is not the story for you.
Much of Sirius and Bellatrix's trauma comes from a blending of the Black family and accounts by actual child celebrities. Again, if you recognize any of this in your life, please seek help.
We'll put specific chapter warnings in the authors' notes. Please take care of yourself first.
Pairings
We have tagged the main pairings, but there are many instances of characters/minor OCs/minor characters that are mentioned.
The only on-screen smut will involve Remus and/or Sirius, though all of the tagged pairings will have on-screen content and not just be background mentions.
Most of the main characters have sexual encounters with other characters (or fantasies), but the only character who actually cheats on a partner is Bellatrix.
There are abusive relationships in this story, both referenced and shown. None of these are meant to be healthy relationships, though sometimes the characters may not see that. Though there may be direct reference to events, there are NO graphic descriptions of non-consensual sex. The chapters that get the closest will be tagged in author's notes.
Spoilers: These relationships include: Greyback to Remus (and other male characters), OCs to Sirius and Bellatrix, McTavish to Lily, Lockhart to Sirius, Rabastan to Sirius, Bellatrix > Rodolphus, Mulciber to Mary MacDonald, Fudge to Sirius, Riddle to Bellatrix, and Snape to Lily.

We must give huge shout-outs to the following tutorials:

These tutorials provided the starting point for what you see in this fic, and they absolutely elevated DYMM to the next level! We did modify all of their code to suit our needs, but without them, we never would have gotten this far.
It is strongly encouraged to keep the creator's styles turned ON for this fic to see it in its full glory. While we did our best to make it readable without them, it really loses a lot of its charm and ease. This does mean that downloading the fic doesn't work very well. You CAN save it as an HTML file, but if you can't see the text format below, this fic isn't going to be the easiest to read.

Story Notes
We have done some modifications to Black ages. Bellatrix and Sirius are the same age in this story, Andromeda and Regulus are 6 years younger than them, and Narcissa is another 3 years younger than Andromeda and Regulus.
Also, simply because this is FICTION... COVID-19 does not exist. At all.
Here was our reasoning for the colors:
- James: Bright Gryffindor > Bright Red
- Sirius: Dark Gryffindor > Dark Red
- Sev: Dark Slytherin > Dark Green
- Bellatrix: Toxic Slytherin > Toxic Green
- Lily: Bright eyes > Bright Green
- Flo: Barbie-doll-esque > Barbie Doll Pink
- Frank: Externally very masculine > Navy Blue
- Alice: Externally very feminine but not pink > Purple
- Mary: Bright and sunny > MARIgold Yellow
- Remus: Krethes likes blue. (Blue is mellow and artsy. Also Blue-Lupin Blupin) > Blue
- Others: Grey is the default "Someone else in your DMs" color for most messengers
