“DR GEARLOOSE!”

“Oh god dammit – um okay Officer what would it take for you to take your gun and put an end to me right now?”

“What?” asked the veteran officer starring down at chicken who seemed quite serious in this request – well as serious as a chicken could be kneeling on the cold ground, eyes watering slightly from the pain of having his entire arm jammed inside a soda vending machine at awkward angle in the middle of the night.

“DR GEARLOOSE I’M COMING TO SAVE YOU!”

The young rookie officer looked up, along with the two paramedics who were looking at the back panel of the vending machine with a gasp, “Is that Gizmoduck!” they cried excitedly as the booming voice got closer.

“No, no, no -I knew I shouldn’t have called 911 – of course someone would have told his mother!” muttered Gyro balling his one free arm into a fist and banging it against the ground in frustration.

Just then Gizmoduck whizzed around the corner almost crashing into a wall at the speed he was going “DR GEARLOOSE – Oh no! Are you alright what happened? M’ma said there was an emergency call to the lab, and you were hurt!”

“I’m fine. Now go away you stupid int- I mean – you-you grrr.” Gyro gave a frustrated growl he couldn’t talk to Fenton the way he normally would or else the police and paramedics would know that he knew who his secret identity was. Fenton could claim he was passing by and saw the police cars and ambulance and went to investigate to see if there was anything the hero could do to help, but Gyro couldn’t get away with calling him intern.

“Fear not citizen Gizmoduck is here to save you.”

Gyro really wanted to punch him.

“What’s wrong and how can I be of assistance?”

Gyro faced palm with his free hand. Did he really need to explain it to him?

“The can of soda got stuck in the machine and he tried to reach in and pull it out and now he’s stuck!” explained the rookie cop to Fenton excitedly clearly thrilled with meeting Gizmoduck in person. “He may have broken his arm or dislocated his shoulder from struggling to get out!”

Fenton gasped and quickly knelt down next to Gyro and hugged him tightly, “There, there it’s going to alright now, I’ve got you – don’t worry. We’ll get you out in no time.”

Gyro went scarlet. He could not believe Fenton was hugging him and gently rubbing his back and cooing at him like he was a small child in front of these people. Well at least it wasn’t anybody he knew – he was going to have to threaten Fenton later that if he breathed a word of this to anybody-

“Phew, finally caught up to you!”

“Hey what’s going on?”

Oh dear god no. The blue one and that himbo of a pilot/driver came running into the lab.

“Who are you?” snapped the police officer in charge.

Launchpad snapped into salute nearly knocking Dewey off his shoulder.

“Launchpad McQuack sir! Me and my little buddy here were having a movie marathon with Gizmo-”

“When we saw Gizmoduck fly by our window and we chased after him!” interrupted Dewey stopping Launchpad before he accidently revealed too much.

Dewey jumped down from Launchpad’s shoulders and whipped out his phone.

“Oh man wait until everyone see this!” laughed Dewey snapping some pictures.

“Hey stop that, delete that right -OW!” cried out Gyro clutching his shoulder, he had tried to snatch the phone out of the duck’s hands to be stopped suddenly by the shooting pain running down his arm.

Dewey’s malicious smile dropped when he saw the real pain the scientist was in. Gyro shut his eyes tight and focused on his breathing to try and control the pain.

Pride comes before a fall; Gyro really hadn’t wanted anyone to find out that he was stuck in the stupid vending machine, so he had struggled with all his might to get out on his own. After hours he had finally relented only after he had twisted his body and pulled so hard that something gave a sickening snap and he screamed loud enough for his voice to echo through the building. Even then he still was prideful enough that he couldn’t bring himself to call any of his frien- er co workers/ acquaintances for help.

“Sorry.” muttered Dewey quietly as Launchpad took Fenton’s spot kneeling next to Gyro so he could lean onto him.

Fenton licked his lips nervously, inside he was panicking because Dr Gearloose was hurt but he knew as Gizmoduck he had to try and stay calm and control the situation.

“Alright everyone stand back.” he commanded as out of his stomach out popped a mechanical arm with a small buzz saw attached to the end.

“OMG are you going to cut his arm off!” screeched Dewey.

“Woah, woah there little buddy it’s okay – don’t worry, I’m sure they’ll grow back.” explained Launchpad gently patting a frozen with terror Gyro on the back.

Fenton spluttered “Wha-no- NO! I’m going to cut apart the vending machine!”

“Oh, that would be a lot less bloody.” nodded Dewey.

“Or,” remarked one of the paramedics who this entire time had been focusing on sticking a pen light through the back of the vending machine to try and see exactly where Gyro was caught, “Um Dr Gearloose was it? Um you could try… letting go of the can.”

Notes:

Yes I stole the Simpson's scene but don't you dare tell me that Gyro isn't too stubborn that this is exactly what would happen.
