I love writing and I love receiving comments and constructive criticism to help me progress. I am truly grateful that readers enjoy my stories.
I never mark my stories as complete unless they are actually complete. My stories are my babies and I will finish them despite how long it may take. I understand that this may be frustrating but there are many varied reasons for lack of updates and that's the writers prerogative.
Writing is not an automatic process, it's emotional and physical and as open to influence as any other creative endeavour. It is also dependent on available time. Sometimes it means focusing on something new just to start writing again.
What I do not love and will not tolerate, because I am an actual adult and have been for quite some time, are any comments that are solely designed to insult through sarcasm because a story hasn't been updated in a while. I wouldn't dream of being so rude and discourteous to another writer, so I will not accept that kind of behaviour.
Seriously I am too old for that kind of shit. I don't have the patience or stamina to either put up with that stupidity or get into an argument with a rude person. I have better things to do with my time. I have found the delete button and I will use it.
There are literally thousands of writers on this site with completed works so there is no need to read works in progress if patiently waiting for an update is that much of an issue.
Any genuine queries to discuss a story I haven't updated in a while will be most welcome. I am more than happy to do so. What parent doesn't want to talk about their baby? :)
