Summary
As a Muggle-born lady in polite magical society, Miss Hermione Granger Potter does what necessity demands: she publishes her work under the name of her adoptive brother, Mr. Harry Potter.
It is intended to lend her ideas legitimacy, not bring attention to herself.
The scheme succeeds.
Rather too well, perhaps.
A correspondence begins between S. Snape and "H. Potter." Sharp, exacting, and increasingly ill-suited to the comfortable boundaries of professional discourse.
When Lord Severus Prince encounters the adoptive siblings in person, the neat arrangement fractures. Mr. Harry Potter proves far less engaging than H. Potter's written reputation, while Miss Granger demonstrates a compelling mind that is unmistakably... familiar.
Hermione, meanwhile, finds herself confronting two disquieting truths: a deep intellectual attachment to the elusive Mr. Snape, and an immediate, unguarded connection to Lord Prince.
Both parties, unfortunately, proceed under incomplete understanding.
Misidentification is not a trivial error.
It is a foundation waiting to give way.

Summary
In official practice, Scent Theory was a private clinic whose aim was to soothe afflicted Alphas utilizing a treatment plan of skin-to-skin therapy. Or as Lavender had renamed it, cuddle sessions. Unofficially, Hermione found herself as an accidental matchmaker for feral Alphas and omegas.
Or, the one where Severus Snape is a Stage 4 feral Alpha whose scent sends Hermione Granger into a spontaneous heat.
