Chapter Text
Waking up looking at an unfamiliar ceiling was unfortunately not anything new to Harry, so when he opened his eyes to the new image, he didn't freak out. He continued to lie in the bed like everything was fine and thought through what led him to that moment. It didn't take long for him to figure out what had happened.
He got up and stretched before heading to his bathroom. His ensuite bathroom was still insane to him. It was all white and black marbling, which he remembered from school, and was a great conduit for magic, which meant that the heating charms would be exquisite. However, that was not the point of his bathroom visit. He was in there to use the bathroom, which he did before he left and headed down the stairs to see if his papa was awake.
That would take getting used to. Referring to Severus as his Papa and not his professor. Though he supposed he'd have to call him professor in three years anyway. That was neither here nor there at this current moment. What he needed to focus on was the fact that Papa was going to be working on a potion that should make him look different. Maybe he’d look different enough that no one would recognize him as Harry Potter. Maybe just maybe he could fly under the radar this time around. He doubted it, but he could hope.
He finally found the dining room and walked over to his seat, which already had food placed at it under a stasis charm. He clambered into the seat, smiling at his papa as he got settled. “Morning, Papa.”
The young boy's father smiled at him and greeted him warmly, “Good morning, Hadrian.”
It was nice to hear an adult speak to him happily. At this age, Harry couldn't remember a time an adult talked to him warmly. Well, maybe his primary school teacher, but that was it. It was different in a good way. It made the boy feel cared for, which in and of itself was completely different. He was ready to learn everything he could about his father. If the man's ideals were, in fact, so much different from what he remembered, he wanted to save him.
“Papa, when can I begin my lessons?” He wanted to learn everything he could before he started school in three years.
Severus smiled softly. “You remind me so much of your father, Hadrian. We will begin your lessons after breakfast. Those lessons will include etiquette so you may act like a proper wizard.”
“Proper wizard?”
“Yes, proper wizard. I will teach you how to greet other wizards of any birth and how to treat magical creatures. You see, Hadrian, there are magical creatures such as Werewolves and vampires to think of.” Severus replies easily, like the mention of dangerous creatures was a normal occurrence. Harry just nodded and started eating breakfast.
He was excited to learn, which surprised him. Apparently, his want to learn had been suppressed as well. Luckily, he was ready and willing now. He wanted to bring his father back and keep him on the side of sanity. He had full faith he could do so before Tom lost himself completely and maybe, just maybe, they could be a family.
Later, after breakfast, Severus brought Harry to the library. There they set up with books and parchment. Severus began their lessons and started teaching Harry about wizard etiquette, including how to properly address the goblins and Gringotts Bank. Harry took notes dutifully. He made sure to pay proper attention so as not to disappoint his papa. He wanted to have parents who were proud of him.
When they took a small break, Harry looked up at him. “Papa, who is Sirius Black?” That question seemed to take the black-haired man off guard as he looked at Harry with big eyes. “Well, Hadrian, He is the Lord of House Black. But he is wrongfully imprisoned in the Wizarding prison Azkaban.”
“Why is he wrongfully in there?”
Severus smiled softly at him. “Because my heart he took the fall for a friend of his that betrayed his friends. The people who took you from us and that led your father to turn murderous.”
Harry nodded and looked at his notes, then back at his papa. “Papa, if we can prove that Sirius didn't do it, could we get him out of Azkaban?”
Severus looked at him searching his eyes, then nodded. “In theory, yes, but we would need proof that doesn't incriminate your father or me in the process. That is difficult to do.”
Harry frowned. “That doesn't sound fair to me, Papa. He shouldn't be in prison for something he didn't do. I think we should help him.” He felt strongly about it. “What if he didn't know I was stolen? The papers at the bank said he's my godfather. I want to know him.”
Severus sighed but nodded. “So much like your father… fine, we will do our best to get him out of prison. As far as I'm aware, he never received a trial, and that alone is enough to get him a fair trial. I will confer with your godfather Lucius and see what we can do.”
Harry beams. “Thank you, papa!”
